Thank you for your interest in S.O.A.R. Community Services and welcome to our website. We hope to convey our passion for the arts and our clients. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3), tax exempt organization. Our goal is to increase awareness of the therapeutic benefits of art and music to a person’s health, education, and social advancement.
As a person born with Spina Bifida, I understand the mental, physical and social challenges that having a disability can carry. I was introduced to the arts and music at an early age and it quickly became an important part of my growth spiritually, mentally, and physically. I learned to play instruments (piano and violin), dance, choreograph, sing and perform at a young age. The beauty of the arts was my escape from the numerous doctors’ visits, physical pain and emotional trials. I was homeschooled through the 7th grade and attended regular schools from 8th grade through college. Although, bullying was part of the experience, I was immensely blessed with the support and encouragement of family, teachers, and friends.
S.O.A.R. Community Services is committed to providing leadership and quality of services to our community. We stand for Strengthening Others to Achieve & Rise and aim to encourage our clients to realize their potential. Our board members and volunteers generously give of their time. Our partners and sponsors provide us resources and support that enable us to serve our community. Together, we work to fulfill the organization’s mission.
We welcome the opportunity to meet you in person and help you to know us better.
Sincerely,
Alana D. Tristan,
